Controlling Chemistry in Space and Time

Our research goal is to control complex chemical and biological systems in space and time using Microfluidics.

Our research is highly interdisciplinary, involving components of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Engineering. We are a friendly team of graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and undergraduates.

I.  Developing new technology:

To develop new microfluidic technology we use our knowledge of organic chemistry, surface chemistry, fluid flow, interfacial phenomena, and biomolecular interactions.
more

II.  Validating technology by applying it to urgent and important problems

We are currently applying this technology to high-throughput, economical methods for structural and functional proteomics.
more

III. Using this technology to understand the dynamics of complex chemical systems.

We are actively pursuing two approaches: i) We create minimal functional models of complex biochemical systems.  ii) We work with whole biological networks and organisms to test hypothesis and models we derived from the minimal models.
